Carmen's life has been characterized by adventure and service. From her beginnings as a military child to her roles as the spouse of a Special Operations military pilot and a homeschooling mother of five, her fiction writing and devotionals have been shaped by real-life heroes who demonstrate daily courage and commitment.


Crazy Facts About Carmen!

1.  New Zealand: I have para-glided off the tallest mountain in New Zealand. 

2.  I have walked on the Alaska Pipeline.

3. Germany: I escaped from an Armed Forces Day Care at the age of 2. I evaded the military police for hours. (The best thing they can figure out is I climbed a military daycare fence, walked a long way and was found in my parents tent sleeping. The tent had been set up just before they dropped me off at a day care in an area that we had never been too.) 

4. I climbed a train bridge with a single rope. At the top, I slipped and fell 20 feet and landed in rusty bobwire. Only a scratch! 

5. I talk to plants, squirrels, birds, dogs, myself, and occasionally inanimate objects that are not cooperating. 

6. I am an adventurous eater. I has eaten elk, gator, bear, moose, seal, whale, rattlesnake and live octopus.

7.  I caught a King Salmon that was taller than me in Alaska. 

8. I slept in a car during a full white out - snow blizzard in Wyoming.

9. France: I threw a paper airplane off the Eiffel Tower In Paris. 

10. I have been stung by a scorpion from Afghanistan while in the United States. 

11.  Korea: I gave birth to my first born child on a cot in Korea. 

12. Holland:  I picked Tulips illegally. (I was 2) 

13. Belgium: I passed out Christian tracks and Bibles to the prostitutes in the red light district. 

14. I have hiked volcanoes. Dormant. Did you think I was going to say a lava flowing one?  

15. I have traveled from east coast to west coast of the United States by car more than 8 times.  

16. I'm only two states away from visiting every state. Maine and Rhode Island! Roadtrip, Anyone?  

17. I walked to school and caught the school bus in Alaska in minus 70 below zero weather. Freezing Cold! 

18. I have lived in the Sonoran Desert where the temperatures get up to 120 degrees! Blazing Hot! 

19. I stepped in the middle of a coiled up cottonmouth.  May I never do it again! 

20. I read over 100 books every year. Proof can be given through the Kindle tracker!


What do I read when I am not writing?  

I read Devotions, Christian Fiction and Non-Fiction.  Plus, I read all Jane Austin fan fiction!  I have an enormous collection of Children's Picture Books.
